Ecuador Tierra Viva Travel Company (ETV) is an Ecuador-based tour operator agency that offers foreigners and locals the chance of doing ecotourism in Southern Ecuador. ETV's goal is to provide our clients with a unique and memorable travel experience and help preserve Ecuador's biological and cultural diversity.

Ecuador's unique biodiversity and breath-taking landscapes have enormous eco-tourism potential.  This potential has been overlooked over the years due to the country's economic fixation solely on plantation products and the exploitation of natural resources.

At Ecuador Tierra Viva, we strongly feel that Ecuador has to diversify its economy by widening its scope to include alternate venues such as eco-tourism.  This activity in particular, not only has an enormous potential of becoming a major economic engine of the country, but also has the potential of becoming the most sustainable and environmentally-friendly economic endeavor.  Consequently, through activities such as eco-tourism,  Ecuador will most likely be able to preserve its natural  resources, beauty and biodiversity for future generations.

Ecuador Tierra Viva believes that it is crucial that sustainable development takes place at the rural level.  We contribute towards this by employing locals from the rural communities that we visit.  As a result, we not only add an extra source of income to these rural communities, but also we help them realize that there are alternate ways of benefiting from their land and its natural resources.

Ecuador Tierra Viva's staff is formed by people with different professional backgrounds who are devoted to and passionate about their job.  We believe that our  individual skills joined together allow us, as a tourism company, to provide an excellent and unique service.

Our tours take place mostly in national parks and rural communities.  In doing so, our clients will have the chance to penetrate deeper into the Ecuadorian wilderness and culture.  We try to keep our tours as simple and environmental-friendly as possible.  We do this in part by camping  and working with small community-based eco-lodges, as well as, using environmentally friendly products and services as much as possible.

During our tours you will encounter places that few other people have encountered and you will also have the chance to experience the local culture and cuisine.  Therefore, we encourage you to join our tours with an adventurous spirit and mind, as it would be a unique learning experience.

Ecuador Tierra Viva tours with small groups of people at a time.  This is done in order to make our tours as intimate and pleasurable as possible.  It's our hope and effort to leave our clients with a lasting experience of Ecuador.

Ecuador Tierra Viva also offers universities and colleges the chance of doing field courses in Southern Ecuador (educative/scientific tourism).  We provide all the logistical support needed to carry out these field courses; however, each institution must provide its own course instructors.

Finally, Ecuador Tierra Viva offers a wide array of travel related services.

It is our intention to give our clients a chance to experience a  simpler life style away from the luxurious urban mode of everyday life.  Thus, we challenge you to leave behind all the little gadgets we have become so accustomed to (i.e. cell phones), in order to fully experience the flavor of a natural setting as it should be experienced.  Through this opportunity you might come to discover a part of yourselves as well as of nature, that has been obscured through modern day living.  So come along and join one of our tours!
