This 3-day long tour is designed for national and foreign tourists who are already in Ecuador and wish to spend a few days in the south of the country.

 

Day 1: This tour starts in Quito, where at 4:30 pm we'll take a plane to the airport that serves the city of Loja, this airport is located in the city of Catamayo.  From the airport we will drive to Copalinga Ecolodge, passing through the cities of Loja and Zamora. Copalinga is located near the city of Zamora and the Podocarpus National Park (PNP).  After checking-in at Copalinga we will hike to the PNP where we will have dinner at Copalinga and spend the rest of the day in this ecolodge.

Day 2: After breakfast we will depart to the Nangaritza Valley. By 11:00 am we will arrive at Yankuam Cabins, where we will be spending the second night of our ecotour. After check-in at Yankuam Cabins we will proceed to climb in our boat and spend the rest of the day navigating along the Nangaritza and Nunbatakaime Rivers. During our boat trip we will visit Shaime, a Shuar village, where we'll learn about Shuar culture. By 5:30 we'll travel back to Yankuam Cabins, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: After breakfast at Yankuam Cabins, we'll make our way to the city of Loja. We'll stop at San Francisco Lodge, which is located within the buffer zone of the PNP, to have lunch and to visit the cloud forest. The rest of the afternnon we'll spend in Loja and by 4:30 pm we'll make our way to airport. By 6:40 pm we'll be back at Quito's airport.
